<h2 data-path-to-node="2"><b data-path-to-node="2" data-index-in-node="0"><strong>Official Tournament Prospectus: 2026 Youth Badminton Open</strong></b></h2><h3 data-path-to-node="3"><b data-path-to-node="3" data-index-in-node="0"><strong>1. Competition Divisions</strong></b></h3><p data-path-to-node="4">The tournament will be divided into the following age groups based on birth year (per USAB standards):</p><ul data-path-to-node="5"><li data-list-item-id="ebc018e9d3414ea55401c2ad57d4e849c"><p data-path-to-node="5,0,0"><b data-path-to-node="5,0,0" data-index-in-node="0"><strong>U11:</strong></b> Under 11 years old</p></li><li data-list-item-id="e184f5cb3c93ab8b22d043549325a0999"><p data-path-to-node="5,1,0"><b data-path-to-node="5,1,0" data-index-in-node="0"><strong>U13:</strong></b> Under 13 years old</p></li><li data-list-item-id="e815e8c413878632b17286d87e640a2e0"><p data-path-to-node="5,2,0"><b data-path-to-node="5,2,0" data-index-in-node="0"><strong>U15:</strong></b> Under 15 years old</p></li><li data-list-item-id="eb105f8f1e6e5bffac0e1b9a9c334f1ca"><p data-path-to-node="5,3,0"><b data-path-to-node="5,3,0" data-index-in-node="0"><strong>U17:</strong></b> Under 17 years old</p></li><li data-list-item-id="e1f6754fc46471cfa43e9eaa888c01360"><p data-path-to-node="5,4,0"><b data-path-to-node="5,4,0" data-index-in-node="0"><strong>U19:</strong></b> Under 19 years old</p></li></ul><p data-path-to-node="6"><b data-path-to-node="6" data-index-in-node="0"><strong>Events Offered:</strong></b> Boys’ Singles (BS), Girls’ Singles (GS), Boys’ Doubles (BD), Girls’ Doubles (GD), and Mixed Doubles (XD).</p><h3 data-path-to-node="7"><b data-path-to-node="7" data-index-in-node="0"><strong>2. Tournament Format</strong></b></h3><p data-path-to-node="8">To maximize playing time for all junior athletes, the following format will be utilized:</p><ul data-path-to-node="9"><li data-list-item-id="ec3ae355fe847fa0bd3e549a53f26fe87"><p data-path-to-node="9,0,0"><b data-path-to-node="9,0,0" data-index-in-node="0"><strong>Stage 1: Pool Play (Round Robin):</strong></b> Players are divided into groups of 3 or 4. The top finishers from each pool will advance to the main draw.</p></li><li data-list-item-id="e3935c729746838b1cd72890e6fcc455c"><p data-path-to-node="9,1,0"><b data-path-to-node="9,1,0" data-index-in-node="0"><strong>Stage 2: Knockout Stage (Single Elimination):</strong></b> Advancing players will compete in a standard bracket format to determine the champions.</p></li><li data-list-item-id="e3ab828986237d26c916ca12d2b2c4226"><p data-path-to-node="9,2,0"><b data-path-to-node="9,2,0" data-index-in-node="0"><strong>Consolation Bracket:</strong></b> Players who lose their first match in the main draw will be entered into a consolation bracket (time permitting) to ensure a minimum of two matches per event.</p></li></ul><h3 data-path-to-node="10"><b data-path-to-node="10" data-index-in-node="0"><strong>3. Scoring System</strong></b></h3><ul data-path-to-node="11"><li data-list-item-id="e264dd8fd69e05a5d820466c44c3c0ec5"><p data-path-to-node="11,0,0">Matches will follow the standard <b data-path-to-node="11,0,0" data-index-in-node="33"><strong>BWF 21-point rally scoring system</strong></b>.</p></li><li data-list-item-id="e35b32d6d6da4320569c1174b87216c3b"><p data-path-to-node="11,1,0">All matches are best-of-three games.</p></li><li data-list-item-id="e49fd3dc83851a1824f004aaf358e1357"><p data-path-to-node="11,2,0">At 20-all, the side which gains a two-point lead first wins the game.</p></li><li data-list-item-id="e83a9996eeb62111cd7bc4b34b83c286d"><p data-path-to-node="11,3,0">At 29-all, the side scoring the 30th point wins the game.</p></li><li class="ck-list-marker-italic" data-list-item-id="eaedc974e20eeec6bb9b5e0059e189599"><p data-path-to-node="11,4,0"><em><i data-path-to-node="11,4,0" data-index-in-node="0">Note: For U11 divisions or time-constrained pool play, the tournament director may opt for a single 30-point game.</i></em></p></li></ul><h3 data-path-to-node="12"><b data-path-to-node="12" data-index-in-node="0"><strong>4. Equipment and Attire</strong></b></h3><ul data-path-to-node="13"><li data-list-item-id="e48bbcf3d49cdfd494b28aeb427a453e8"><p data-path-to-node="13,0,0"><b data-path-to-node="13,0,0" data-index-in-node="0"><strong>Shuttlecocks:</strong></b> Tournament-grade feather shuttles will be provided for all matches.</p></li><li data-list-item-id="e89b68918e7ab2d7bc821472cf44cc893"><p data-path-to-node="13,1,0"><b data-path-to-node="13,1,0" data-index-in-node="0"><strong>Footwear:</strong></b> Players <b data-path-to-node="13,1,0" data-index-in-node="18"><strong>must</strong></b> wear non-marking court shoes. Running shoes or black-soled shoes are strictly prohibited on the courts.</p></li><li data-list-item-id="e819e0208f385833dec7e278753e71626"><p data-path-to-node="13,2,0"><b data-path-to-node="13,2,0" data-index-in-node="0"><strong>Apparel:</strong></b> Standard athletic attire is required. Club or team jerseys are encouraged.</p></li></ul><h3 data-path-to-node="14"><b data-path-to-node="14" data-index-in-node="0"><strong>5. Rules of Conduct</strong></b></h3><ul data-path-to-node="15"><li data-list-item-id="e572b58d4732ba9b003a32fc7639f5d60"><p data-path-to-node="15,0,0"><b data-path-to-node="15,0,0" data-index-in-node="0"><strong>On-Court Behavior:</strong></b> High standards of sportsmanship are expected. Profanity, racket throwing, or disrespectful behavior toward opponents or officials will result in immediate disqualification.</p></li><li data-list-item-id="e3ca1e830157dc8989b7a7709380d0103"><p data-path-to-node="15,1,0"><b data-path-to-node="15,1,0" data-index-in-node="0"><strong>Coaching:</strong></b> Coaching is permitted only during the 60-second interval (when a score reaches 11) and the 120-second interval between games.</p></li><li data-list-item-id="e7517ba8765ae1173822b9e0978630e77"><p data-path-to-node="15,2,0"><b data-path-to-node="15,2,0" data-index-in-node="0"><strong>Line Calls:</strong></b> In the absence of line judges, players are responsible for calling lines on their side of the net. If a player is unsure, the bird is "in." The Tournament Referee will have the final say in any disputes.</p></li></ul><h3 data-path-to-node="16"><b data-path-to-node="16" data-index-in-node="0"><strong>6. Schedule &amp; Check-In</strong></b></h3><ul data-path-to-node="17"><li data-list-item-id="e253fef594a9966bd3f051d3aebeb441a"><p data-path-to-node="17,0,0"><b data-path-to-node="17,0,0" data-index-in-node="0"><strong>Check-In:</strong></b> All players must check in at the registration desk at least 30 minutes prior to their first scheduled match.</p></li><li data-list-item-id="e87927656f2d35933e9defd853655ab31"><p data-path-to-node="17,1,0"><b data-path-to-node="17,1,0" data-index-in-node="0"><strong>Default Rule:</strong></b> A 10-minute "no-show" rule will be strictly enforced. If a player is not on the court within 10 minutes of their match being called, it will result in a walkover.</p></li></ul><h3 data-path-to-node="18"><b data-path-to-node="18" data-index-in-node="0"><strong>7. Awards</strong></b></h3><ul data-path-to-node="19"><li data-list-item-id="eb3a2a1cf01020ff69a87457fa236f3d8"><p data-path-to-node="19,0,0">Medals will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in each division.</p></li><li data-list-item-id="e169890405ae506de9daa986a2dd955b5"><p data-path-to-node="19,1,0">Consolation winners will receive a Certificate of Merit.</p></li></ul><hr data-path-to-node="20"><h3 data-path-to-node="21">&nbsp;</h3>
